View Full Version : Over the weekend i straight piped my 745.

So i straight piped e66 i think i lost some power but dam it sounds really good im going to post some videos soon.

Let me know if any of you guys straight pipe your rides just wanted to know if you lost some power.

wat will so u weny ahead and did huh? u said u were so u took off ur stock mufflers?if u did u probably lost back pressure that why people put a magna flow or a muffler but lets hear it

Anyways, removing back pressure will decrease torque but increase top end HP. So you car will feel slower off the line but faster at the peak.

yes i have magnaflow and if i let me butterly open all the time you can really feel the loss in power from the roll in start. Best results is leaving the butterly closed and letting it open on its own

There were some barn experiments in the motorcycle world that welding a washer to a short length of all thread and putting that in the tail pipe would help give back some torque and mitigate some reversion in drag pipes. I have a beater Harley with a racing top end on it and drag pipes. I did just that and it seemed to help. I did not dyno before and then after, or at all frankly, so science aside my impression is that it helped.

On another note, does bimmerfest offer grammar lessons?
