I've got about 4 months left of CPO warranty and thought I might want a "luxury" SUV. I saw a 2010 Audi Q7 with low miles for sale at a local dealer and spent about 2 hours driving it and looking it over. I likely could have traded outright for it on my 2007 750li with 64K miles. Brought it home to get the wife's opinion and while she liked it fine, she gave me the best advice...."There will always be another one of these for sale, but you cannot get YOUR BMW back, so if you are not sure, don't do it. " When I returned the Audi to the dealership, I told him that while I liked it for an SUV, I thought I was spoiled and most things I drove after my 750 would feel like a "step down". His response was that the 750 was the flagship car. He suggested that if I wanted a luxury SUV that handled and performed like a BMW, I should test a Range Rover (any year after 2005). I researched them and they get 12 MPG city and 19 Highway....so much for that. Guess I'll keep the 750 and maybe buy an extended warranty when CPO runs out.
