Hi,
I have a 2004 530I. The mileage in Service menu don't countdown. For Example the Oil Change is 11000 and Brake pad 25000 and others are same. Why it is like this?

I think it counts down every 1k miles like it will stay @ 11000 till you reach 10000 then change to 10000, at least that's how my car does it.

The oil counter counts by 100's under 1000. I think the brakes count by thousands all the way. I cant remember that one, but it is definitely counting down. Roughly around 1500 miles left on the oil you'll get the service soon reminder and it jumps to the top of the maintenance list if it wasn't there already. It lists in order of the one most likely to hit it's service date or mileage next.

Good Luck.

I think you may want to read your manual, based on the few threads I have seen you post here. Its all in there. And then use the search function before posting a thread here.

And is it an '04 or '05? You say both in different threads.

The oil countdown is based on some formula in the computer that is calculated based on how hard you drive, how hot the engine gets, etc. I have actually seen my counter count up after extended light driving(it 17,000 mi at one point). Good idea to keep track of the miles yourself and calendar date for last oil change.
