Hi all,
Whenever I go over small road bump, I would hear some squeaky sound from the steering wheel/column. I could not pin point the exact location as I am driving. It sounds like it need some grease.

Is there any place near the steering that could produce such sound?

I have a 08 750li.

Thanks,
Anthony

There is a plastic cover/plate above the steering column and under the gauges that often squeaks. Pull it straight up at the edge nearest you, then you should be able to just pull it out (then drive around to see if it goes away).

Keif got it covered. I too had that same problem until I discovered it was that plastic plate under the guages, gotta re adjust it once in a while.

Hi Guys,
I have determined that the center piece under the gauges is the problem.

Now how do I remove that piece? Pull out toward me? I don't want to break anything.

Thanks,
Anthony

Gently pull it up and it'll pop right out then just put it back into place and the squeaking will go away. If it comes back do the same thing again
