Hey all,
I've got a 2012 x5 with the standard black dashboard. What is that made out of and what products do you use to clean and maintain the dash? Leather cleaner doesn't seem right, and I'm not sure I should be using stuff made to make plastic look blacker. Any recommendation?

sure for an oem matte finish you can use

1z einszett Cockpit (http://www.detailersdomain.com/1Z-einszett-Cockpit-Premium_p_70.html)or Sonax Dashboard Cleaner (http://www.detailersdomain.com/Sonax-Dashboard-Cleaner-200-ml_p_334.html)

a slightly damp microfiber towel, then dry with another mf towel. You don't need to use any chemicals to clean your dash on a new car. Allow all the plastics in your car to leach out for the first year, then you can use the products mentioned by Phil.

Water, towel, and hand power.

If you are looking for a cleaner, get a detergent based APC, dilute that 10 part water to 1 part APC and your good to go
