So, for the weekly run to recycling with storage bins that always make me drop the rear seats on my 335 sedan , the occasional trip for plants and soil and other home stuff, the annual snowblower tune-up , and the college campus visits with dorm stuff , would the rear hatch opening and the cargo space tip the decision to the x1 as the replacement for the 2009 335xi sedan? :dunno:

I've been thinking about the same and I'm leaning towards a X1 because it's significantly cheaper, not to mention, a MSport xDrive 35i X1 looks pretty cool!

You would still need to drop the seats.

get the F31 if your cargo is not tall. The F31 has a little more cargo capacity with seats up. The only thing the E84 has over the F31 is ground clearance and a Semi-Command driving position. Note sure how the price will compare if comparably equipped. The E84 has a lower base price for sure, if you don't need any options.

X1 will be much cheaper. And you can get the N55.

And it won't have the electric power steering everyone seems to hate.
