Install/reattach interior Rearview mirror on 2008 535i

Returned to my car today after work and discovered the rearview mirror was not attached to the windshield. I thought i could just press it back on but i am not having any luck and i do not want to make the problem worse.
Is there a video or something that will give me tips on how to reattach the mirror???
I'm hoping that glue will not be needed. My mirror contains the buttons for remote control of my garage etc.

I'm hoping i will not have to go to the dealer for this.

Hey pebranch, did you get this fixed? My mirror is attached but the sensor for the auto wipers is smashed so they are not working. I'd like to remove the mirror and reapply it. Let me know what you found out.
