View Full Version : In the market again... 535i

Ok so I left for a bit and went and got a Benz, big mistake.. Nice car but no power and the handling was not great. Granted I went with an E350 but I figured it would be ok..
Now I want to get into a 2010 535i
I test drove one and I really liked it.
I came from an 06 530xi with comfort access, Nav, parking sensors etc...
I want to keep those same features but what do you guys think about some "can't live withouts"
I definitely want the sport package because of the seats.

Sport, Nav, L7 sound, ventilated seats if you can find one with them. (I lucked out, love them in the summer).
The 2010 535i Sport comes with the Mtech bodykit which rocks. Also the new iDrive with HD panorama screen.

+1 on the ventilated seats. Will never get another car without them! For me, manual transmission is a must have but that's personal preference. Currently, I have a loaner 2012 535i and I like the ability to keep the key in my pocket and the door automatically unlocks when you touch it. Also, you can just press the Start/Stop button without putting the key in. Don't know what that's called but I like it. You're on target with the sport package. The loaner I have doesn't have it and I like the SP better. Good luck and welcome back!

Logic 7, Nav and sport are the 3 live with-outs I say

I have noticed that some of the 2010's idrive screen looked like my old 06 one, while some look different. Was it put in after certain production date or are all the 2010 or did I see wrong.
I am going to look for some more this weekend, the 535 it is for sure.

Idrive had the update in that year so some models earlier 2010 still have the old version.. the easiest way to tell is the different knob

I still have an 06 530xi, with a "real" manual transmission, sports package (which comes with staggered 18" wheels).
The sports package, nav, & comfort access are my top 3, but I must say that the nav on my smartphone is better, faster, & much cheaper. It also automatically updates itself. I don't have comfort access, but BMW engineers should be shot for installing a place to insert a key fob AND push button start! If you push the button, the keys should never have to leave your pocket.
