2012 X1 28i driver side cockpit too hot?

After a few runs of about 200km each and in 22'C outside air temps the driver side cockpit near the right knee area gets very hot. Almost too hot to touch the panelling. No a/c on and no heat on either. The passenger side remains cool to the touch. Have any of you X1 owners noticed this?

Have you checked to see if your car is missing any of the heat shields?
