the weather sealants around the doors of my e46 always making an annoying rubbing sound whenever i go over bumps..the guy at the dealership i should put a lubricant on it and told me wurth lubricants work well..however theres a lot of different lubricants to choose from, can anyone tell me which one would be the best? iv'e been using petroleum jelly and heard that it was bad because it'll eat away at the rubber.

"Einszett Gummi Pflege" is the product everyone seems to recommend, I have not used it as I have "303 Aerospace Protectant" which is also good.

In the past I have used just silicone spray via a paper towel, in fact a local dealer used brand their own for such purposes but I heard to can attack rubber, I never saw any issue myself mind.

Highly recommended
***8226; Iz einzett Gummi Pflege (Rubber Care)
***8226; Zymol Seal - a natural plant anti-oxidizing agent, it will prolong the useful life of the seal by restoring the original moisture and resist tearing and sticking
***8226; Wurth Rubber Care Gel Stick - is silicone-free, biodegradable, and water repellent

I've been using Poorboys Trim Restore for years. What will keep the rubber looking good for years is regular cleaning and protecting. I do mine on both car every few months

Krytox by Dupont is also very good, especially for seals that tend to make noise. It is not cheap, but very little is needed. It's used by VW and Chevrolet for their noisy panel roofs.

I use Einszett Gummi Pflege on all rubber trim every other month or so, and on the Z4 before storing for the Winter. great product and keeps the trim pliable and looking new.

Petrolem jelly is a no no:thumbdwn:. Wurth products are good, if expensive :). Cannot comment on others..
