Like the title says how can i test the battery to make sure its dead and time for a new one? I don't want to keep jumping the car
And anyone in southern california happen to knOw somewhere besides dealership where i can get a new battery coded?

Take the battery [or the car with the battery] to any auto parts store. They will be able to LOAD TEST the battery and tell you if the battery is good/bad.
