When on Tirerack there is a Treadwear rating...contie's are a 540 where most are 300's...mean anything? Yokohama AVID ENVigor have the highest at 560.

Means they last longer.

I have the Envigors as I wanted to test them out. Have had them 16 months so far and put nearly 18,000 miles on them. You can barely tell they have been driven, tons of tread left and I have a lot of power in my car. I am especially impressed with the rears as I was expecting them to wear much faster due to RWD. This tire does not have quite as much grip as the Yokohama S4 or Sport, both of which I had on my e39 540, but those wear out much faster. So it's a trade off. I think for most driving the Envigors will be fine, they are very quiet and feel great on the road, just don't have same level of grip at cornering extremes. I would highly recommend them to people who look for decent performance and long lasting tires.
If you are looking for the very best cornering performance, then it's Michelin Pilot Super Sports. But they probably last a third as long, especially the rears.

The Envigor tire is made with a new compound that is supposed to be extremely durable and Yokohama has bet the house and introduced it very broadly. I was sceptical at first, but now I think they were very conservative with their wear claims. At this rate I will be selling my car before having to replace tires, it's ridiculous the way they are holding up.
