If your car is no longer under warranty, just remove it and bleed the clutch slave cylinder. If it still is under warranty, then swap in a modified CDV. See: http://www.zeckhausen.com/CDV.htm

The underbody cladding must be removed before you can see the CDV on an M3. However, I have found a CDV on every 2002-2004 M3 I have inspected. The odds are very good that you have one.

How big of difference does it make when this valve is gone ?

I put in one of Super Dave's modified CDV's - very big difference in clutch feel and overall driving impression. My question to Dave is - would there be continue improvement by removing the thing? What's the difference in diameter of the original CDV vs. mod CDV vs line only?

The inside diameter of the CDV after being modified is no smaller than other fittings and tubing in the system so it would make no further difference. No further improvement is needed anyway.

Just kidding. There would be no difference - as others have already pointed out.

Since I am still under warranty, maybe I should get one from you as insurance. I am naked in the CDV area now :p Perhaps on my next trip to the little corruption town in NJ, I could have you send on to them to throw on my car :dunno:
