Key replacement for my BMW520

Hi friends,

I recently lost my key for the my 2004 BMW 520i. Getting a replacement key in Kenya which is where I am is ridiculously expensive from the dealer ($800). I know for a fact that it will be fractions of the price anywhere in Europe or US/Canada.

1. is it possible to buy a key from a dealer in another country?
2. Are there alternatives to getting it from a dealer?

Hi,

i have recently ordered a new key for my Bimmer. they charged me around 170 USD. you can contact BMW(NOT A DEALER) directly and ask them how much it costs over there. Or else you can contact American BMW dealers and ask them if they can provide you a Key with your VIN number.


Hope you will find a key at lower cost in your place.

You will have to show proof of ownership as well. BMW will not sell keys (remotes) to non-owners who may have happened to have "found" the car on the roadside.
