I have an opportunity to buy 2009 528Xi 40,000 miles with 6 more months of warranty.
All looks good and specs are good but I am only concerned in all-wheel drive reliability.

I am in Houston and I really do not need all wheel drive but deal is pretty decent (25k).
Any opinion will be appreciated.

I have an 08' 528xi and I would say after almost a year of having it its been very reliable. It doesn't have the reliability ratings as Lexus or Acura so you have to make sure you get a good extended warranty package. Most Bimmer buyers do this.

When I bought mine, it was certified pre-owned so it came with 2yrs/50,000 mile extended warranty after the original warranty expired.

I also bought the extended $0 dollar Maintenance package to go along with the extended warranty. It covers 2 years or 50,000 miles for your scheduled services. It pays for itself with a couple of break jobs which can cost you in the neighborhood of $700 per axle at the Dealer.

Read the threads on this site. There are some very knowledgeable posters here and they want you to be informed, as well as happy with your decision.

The AWD feature comes in handy not only in snow but also on wet roads. It does rain in Houston, doesn't it?

I have a 08 528xi and in the rain it handles like a champ. Really happy with the all wheel drive. Can't wait to see how it handles in the snow.

Thanks for the posts folks. It does rain in Houston like 10 times in last 2 years, global warming affects us as well. :)

I love my 528XI also. Very few and minor problems, most of which handled by CPO. The 4x4 feature is awsome. The 528 is the most reliable model in the E60 line up.
