Gear selector lights not working.

Car: 2008 550i Sport Auto trans option

Problem: The LED lights on the gear selector do not work (No R N D or P light) also, the sport button LED doesn't light up when pushed, but all idications still appear on the cluster.

Code: A828 Function Indicator Faulty

Umm yay i found the problem.... for lack of a better word, how the hell could this happen?!

Problem: No gear seletor lights and gear change malfunction.

It got fixed, but really, how is this possible?

I had the exact issue with my steptronic shifter. The indicator lights went out intermittently at first, then the indicators, & sport button light just went out. The stealer replaced the whole shifter unit. Had to get it programmed too. Totally warrantied! :thumbup:
