But I don't really like the character of those wheels for your car. They just have too many sharp edges and contrast too much with the bodywork and lines of the car.
I still have M68s on my 330i, but I have BBS RKs on my '98 SVT Cobra. The rear wheel measures 18 x 10" and weighs ~19.5 lbs. Better yet, they look like they came factory on my car with their finish, details and fitment.
I understand that some people like more contrast from their add-ons, but my philosophy has always been to try to stay more factory in appearance.

BBS RKs are very very very nice wheels, but they are cast wheels.
They were one of the first considerations:)

i've got bbs rk's as well and on lightweight toyo t1-s 225/45R17. weight reduction on each i'm guestimating is between 6 to 8 lbs per wheel ... so between 24 to 32 lbs of unsprung weight.

So have you noticed a significant difference with this loss in unsprung weight (acceleration, handling)?
I feel pretty ambivalent about the look of those wheels, but I would have been able to judge their look better with a pic or two from farther away (to let me take it in a bit better).

Hate to burst your bubble, but I thought that the factory wheels weighed ~23lbs. Also I'm guessing that a 19" tire probably weighs an extra 2 lbs over a 17" tire. Which means that most likely, I'd guess you've only saved about 5lbs total. Which is better than nothing, but not 28lbs.

"Bling" is a PC word for "Rice" - hmmm. I agree with Raffi.
I like function. On a track, those wheels would get destroyed. I like the design, but 17's or 18's would be better.

Curious, why would they get destroyed at the track?
They are not my style either, but they look like well designed forged pieces. 20lbs for a 19" rim is pretty light considering the size.
And they look like they have great clearance for a RBBK (really big brake kit) probably fit the 15" brembos.
I think this forum prefers BBS's over anything else. E46fanatics probably digs them.

faster response to throttle, better accel and braking. on the other end, the ride feels more rough.
edit: someone on fanatics posted 1 lbs = ~1HP for unsprung weight. whereas i think i've read 10 lbs = 1HP for sprung weight. not sure if that's correct.

The track is hard on wheels, especially when you only have a tiny bit of rubber between the pavement and an aluminum rim.
You hit bumps and curbs at high speed - effectively making the impact several times as severe as a hit in the city or highway. On some portions of the track, you are putting huge stresses on the wheels under severe cornering or severe braking. You need that extra "cushion" the tire offers to absorb the impact. Track use is very violent.
On the track, those 19's would get bent.

From drag race circles, here are some back of the envelope estimations that I've heard over the years:
1)10hp -> 0.1sec faster in the 1/4 mi
2)100lbs -> 0.1 sec faster in the 1/4 mi
3) from 1 & 2 you can approximate that loosing 10lbs will make the car feel as though it has 1 more hp.

We sell BBS for the best prices around.
But these are unique and it's only on the E36 that the tire size for 19s gets to be so "rubber band like".
The E46 can make do with 40s or 45s on those perhaps in the front. So that's no different than stock, which isn't saying that stock won't get bent, but if you're tracking your car with stockers, why not lose some weight? This is E46 M3 not standard E46s I'm referring to:

how much extra weight did you add with the angel eye kit?
umnitza

not as much as you added with your snide remark;)
the DDE is about 1/3lb, if you can handle that, then you can handle anything;)
