When you get the wheel installed would you please share with me on what you had to do.

It was my first post on the fest when I purchased my 2002. Would love to get steptronic working but have never found an ending to a thread describing what to do and how to
code the car.

Thanks

Thank uuuuu cccp. It worked! Had to modify the hardware file to allow me to do it though. That 7229 is old but im going to run it a couple days to see how it goes. I foubd tge alpina transmission flash. Do you think it will harm our transmission? Thinking of trying that next

***CCCP***

Hmmm whats the difference between old and new? Plus does the alpina have same transmission? Im sure its just more aggressive in a sport mode

You need the nav03 facelift DVD navigation player in the boot and the DVD updated disc.

The SMD update really is going to make my year if I can get it to work on my 02.

I am in no hurry and am looking forward to reading what I need to preform this to my 7.

Just the downshifting on the wheel sucks plus sport mode...... Happy

Sirstopher ill be pming you probably tomorrow about this. Im updating right now to a newer zb than that 7229 to see if thats for sports mode also. But it looks like steering wherl change isnt necessary. I may rewire my old wheel and put it back on to confirm and just have left button down shift and right button up shift on the front.

Just updated to 7595873 which is newest I have from late 2010. Still has sport and up and downshift is working. I used winkfp. Now going to redo dme to newer euro.

That's even better......I'm so stoked. I can't tell (you know) how stupid it was for BMW to leave this off of the car in the first place. I had a 97 e38 with SMD and I didn't even think about it until I bought the car.

Super thanks

Don't quote me on the upgrade dvd03, I don't know $hit about the nav system as I still use a cd based system. I have only read that getting a perspective view and the beautifully colored screen requires the updated navi.....

sirstopher

The unit in the boot will be the same as the nav02 but will have a different manufacture date.

You would think you could update the software in the nav02 but I dont think that's an option.

Educated guess!

Lol i have a perspective view on my nav. ACE told me it can be updated with CD that has an update. :))) i dont know **** bout it either bro

Well I have a nav02 with perspective on it. I think nav02 and nav03 is different hardware versions. Ill look into it. I may risk my nav and try to flash it later tonight if there is anyvnav files.
