Hi Bimmerfest folks,

Is anyone is SoCal willing to help me do an AUX mode to the tuner? I know how to solder, I just need some help routing the wire to the front of the car and removing the fm tuner...

Actually if anyone could please talk me through removing the tuner and how to route the cable to the front console that would be a HUGE help! Please PM me with your phone number I just need a small amount of guidance with how to remove seats, etc...

Thanks everyone for your help!

The easiest (and longest :( ) way is to route from the rear seats, along the door sills under the carpet, up the drivers side kick panel, under the steering wheel and then to your dash or center console.

I was going to do it this way and have the cable go into one of the 2 drawers....but im doing other stuffs

Good luck!!! :)

I did this mod last week. Quite simple and works well. I ran my cable from the rear of the car to the front by going up into the head lining. If you pull the door rubbers down to expose the edge of the head lining you can poke the cable into the gap and push the rubber back into place. The gap between the head lining and the 'B' Pillar is big enough to push the cable into and then continue with the front door rubber. Run it right down the rubber until it meets the plastic in the footwell. It took me 5 mins to get the cable from the back to the front and you obviously cant see it. You just need to direct it where you want it from there. Just a note - This mod DID NOT work with iPhone 4. The radio disconnected but would not play my music. It did work for my iPod.

It is odd that the iPhone does not work. It is after all just a universal head phone connection. I even tried a friends one to see if it was just my one but his didn't work either. I have also tried the iPhone with the apple connector plug. I have the iPod so I am happy with that.
