Hi All,

Yesterday I fitted a 07 MMI to my 02 7er. Changed the vin number to suit my car on dashsoft. It all seems to be working fine. I changed the units to KM, KM/L,DD/MM,C to suit as I am in australia. The problem is when I turn off my car and turn it back on it reverts back to MPG, G/M, MM/DD, F. The clock seems to keep its time and the radio presets are fine. The sat nav i have is normally in the split screen but that isnt there anymore either and I have to put it back there everytime i start the car.
Basically it looks like the MMI is not keeping memory when I turn off the car. Has anyone else experienced this? I am also having trouble with the fuel consumption gauge. It doesnt seem to be working properly. Not sure what the issue with that is. The MMI shows no error on dashsoft.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks
terence

Would be interested to know if you find a fix for this. I recently got an 06 MMI that I'm going to fit to my 04 car so it would be good to know what to do with any problems that might arise.

yea no worries, atm AceFX is trying to help me iron out these issues. It seems I may have another underlying problem such as bad earth or power - havent worked that out yet. The new interface is definitely worth it.

Hi Tanny,

a faulty Kombi can cause the MMI to continually reset as well.....

I am just reviewing that info now.

Will keep you posted.

no worries Ace,
also note, I ran the dashsoft and I found no error on the Kombi...I did the electronic speedo thing from one of your posts today and that works fine.

Have you checked the integrity of the MOST Bus........?

Check all the ends to make sure they have a good FO signal.......

There was a known issue with the MOST connection on the SZL and BMW sell a service kit for this.

Do you happen to have an SIB or part number for the kit or the issue?

Sent from my SCH-I535 using Bimmer App

Your right, thats why I suggested he check his KOMBI.....but he said he had no errors on it.

Take Maka's advice Terrence and follow that lead.....

another interesting thing to note is, if i disconnect the MMI, the units on the dash show fine, deg C, km etc but once the mmi loads up it reverts those settings.
