Let me tell you why I hate my dealer!!

I took my ZHP in for warranty yesterday - problem: broken right side control arm bushing. They said fine, we'll replace all front brushing - no question asked. Then I told the GM I need to a rental(Enterprise rental within) because I have couple appointment throughout the day, the time was 11AM. He gave me a semi-loaded demo 530i to use for the time my car was being fix. "If your car is not going to be done tonight, then it home" he said. I did not think much about it because I DID NOT like this car in the first place. However, after 20 minutes with the car, I know I was in trouble. My wife is going to like this car after she drives it. How can a big car like this handle similar to my ZHP? This car was just a joy to drive. To cut the story short, we're picking up my ZHP today (it was done yesterday late afternoon BTW) and keeping the 530i.

I hate Shelly BMW because now I can't get my E30 M3 anymore. My wife likes this 530i so much that I will have to forgo my E30 and get this car for her.

Look on a bright side, a stroller and baby stuffs fit better in the trunk of a 530i better than her old 330i or my ZHP. Hopefully our 4 months old won't missed the exhaust note of a 330i.

They got you! Just don't let her try a 7-series. Then it will be a decade before you get a new car!

Pretty cool at 11:00 and you still got a demo. Last time I went to Fremont BMW for a problem on my ZHP... no more demos at 10:00. I got the choice of a Dodge Durango or a Dakota. Way too big and I felt like I was piloting a barge! :yikes: I'll stick to small, fast, and nimble! Maybe a M5. Hummm... Maybe you should get the wife to try that one! Unfortunately my wife wants a Cayenne Turbo. :(

Its stories like these that make me wonder why every BMW dealer doesn't freely give out BMW loaner cars. Its a great sales opportunity. Very strange.

Well...BMW dealers have already convinced you...try a MB or Lexus dealership...They are usually all next door anyways...I can see the commercial now...

That happened to us as well... used to have a 323iT with some issues that took a long while to fix (2 months :wow: ) Dealer gave my wife a 525i 5-speed with the Sport package to drive in the meanwhile... she now has a 525iT with SP, PP, CWP, etc...

Sounds like I need to find a reason to take my car in for service so my wife will let me trade in my truck.

Was it an E60 or E39?

Always wondered about the 530i. Never test drove one. The only downside to the ZHP for me is the rear seat room. Hmm, maybe I ought to check one out...
