i recently bought bmw 330i 2004 and the previous owner installed mudflaps and had it for 8 years. but i removed these today and there are marks (stains) left on where the mudflaps were.
i tried with mothers clay bar and couldnt get these marks off the paint.
could some one help me how i can remove or clean these dirty marks?

Get a tube of Meguiar's ScratchX. Use a bit of towel to polish the marks away.
It'll take a bit of an effort to do it by hand but that's the only option you have really.
Apply a wax or sealant after the marks are gone.

Either one would work for the removal.
The Ultimate Compound may leave some hazing because of its harshness and you might need a 2nd buffing with a finishing compound like M205. Your eyes will tell you if you need the 2nd corrective step.

ScratchX would remove the stains and finish up without any extra correction needed - I'm thinking.

Best practice is to begin with the least aggressive polish, then move to a compound if necessary. That being said, yes the Meguiars M105 (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php?id=12368&url=detailedimage.com/Meguiars-M43/Ultra-Cut-Compound-M105-P388/8-oz-S3/) compound followed by M205 (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php?id=12368&url=detailedimage.com/Meguiars-M43/Ultra-Finishing-Polish-205-P389/8-oz-S3/) is an effective combination. I'd start with M205 on an orbital DA buffer (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php?id=12368&url=detailedimage.com/Porter-Cable-M17/7424XP-Random-Orbital-Buffer-P331/) with a white pad.

For something like this I would use a chemical based polish like a paint cleaner.

+1

or a cleaner wax

To the OP: Keep in mind that polish will remove from the clearcoat.
