hey guys. i just got a 1995 bmw 525i and it came with these orange side markers which i found to be...well "ugly"

so i looked around and found some clear sidemarkers for around 30 dollars, im thinking about getting it but i dont know which type of bulb to get. my friend who drives a 98 supra got those PIAA bulbs (the bulb is blue but the light shines bright white).

i was thinking if i could use that same bulb in my 525i. and anyone have any installation tips or have prior knowledge to installing clear sidemarkers?

if the bulb im getting isnt good, please tell me an alternative and tell me why.

thats about it, hope to get some feedback from you guys =]

I've seen people put a light coat of silver spray paint over an orange bulb - looks good and is bright enough for a side marker. Only costs $2-4 too.

Go onto Ebay and do a search for BMW sidemarkers. I got clear ones and then ordered the silver bulbs that you can't see through the lens but the blink amber. They llok great. Now I need to replace the fog lights bulbs but they aren't the same as my 325.

Dito! Ebay is the best bet. You can get the fixture only and it will use your existing socket and bulb.

I have mine painted. Buy a spray can of silver high temp paint (grill paint). Clean the bulbs with paint thinner or alcohol, mask the base and spray a very very light coat.

Umm seriously, this thread is 4 years old, and lil is over on bf.c now. he only ever had 2 posts here, so why bump it other than post whoring?

someone slap coldduck with a cold duck, and erase the last three (now 4) posts so this goes back under the pile where it belongs.
