Ummmm, is this request best submitted along with a bribe?

Just not sure how things work around here..... :)

You're a lot closer to getting an avatar than I am. You have more than double my posts and you joined only a month before me...

Mr. Shafer,

Can I please have this image as my Avatar? I know I don't have nearly enough posts, but I was hoping you could make an exception for this very cool picture.

Thanks in advance for your consideration!!

Er, I thought we were supposed to just put up our own avatars. We had to earn the right? I thought that changed a long time ago...

If you have less than 1,000 posts, you have to beg. On a somewhat related note, could you make your sig photo smaller? It's huge, and most of us are familiar with what a 330i ZHP looks like.

There is still a 1,000 post requirement that gets waived on occasion...

I believe that random acts of kindness can go a long way in today's world.

Better?

Cliff

Better? It is smaller, but it still takes up about 1/6 of my screen (and actually all of my browser window, which I don't run full screen while I'm at work :eeps: ). Back when I had a sig photo, I tried to keep it to about 100 pixels high and maybe 500 or so pixels wide.

Isn't your sig photo a personal preference :dunno:

Didn't know there were "rules" people had to follow for a sig photo....jeez!

no rules, just thoughtfulness to your community of fellow festers. when a sig is too large, it causes the reader to have to left-right scroll back and forth to read every message in a thread that contains the offending sig.

What aty said. I have two options when dealing with sig photos I find troublesome. Turn off all sigs, or put the offending party on ignore. I'd prefer not to do either, in this case.

Really, you still think it's too big? I'll change it again if it really bothers you, but it is within the bounds of what others have, don't you think?

OH NO!!! How dare he make you scroll left-to-right...he's so inconsiderate!!

Actually it is kinda annoying when that happens.

I just hope that if my pic sizes or signature causes that to happen that someone lets me know so I can resize them. I guess it all depends on monitor size and screen resolution.

thank you! The only upside of a 16hr day in Los Angeles is that I go to work with no traffic and come home with none. This way I can get my M to 6th gear :D
