I have a 03 330i with the Steptronic and 6k miles. When I'm driving in D and I slow down to a red light, there's this thud that comes from the, i think, the tranny at about 1000 rpms. I think what's happening is that the auto is downshift to 1st before the car stops, making an anoying thud. This doesn't happen in manual shift mode, and in sport mode, it does it, but at about 1300rpms and much smoother. Is it normal, or do I have a problem brewing in the tranny.
