luckily, Jay is not one of them. We took his new-to-him Jeep to Evans Creek to break it in. Pics and story (http://www.edoghouse.com/cbishop/7_10_04/index.htm).

Attached - Two Before and three After pics. :D

A Jeep, the ultimate wash and wear car/vehicle. I am sure that Jeep will never know what Zaino is.:D

When I was in the military, my buddies and I used to go dirt-biking and four-wheeling A LOT. We were stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY at the time, so weekends were filled with camping and getting dirty/muddy in the mountains of Tennesee and Kentucky. I think the object of the game was easy; if you were the cleanest after a ride, you get to buy the next case of beer for the next weekend.

That said, I would suggest for him to buy a winch. It makes the whole process of getting unstuck SO much easier.

It's on the list. He's trying to prioritize on a limited budget. He's been doing this for a long time; this Jeep is replacing a Samurai that was totally decked for offroading - lifted, stipped, winches front and rear. It had the advantage that he didn't care if it got beat up. It had the disadvanatge of very little power, feeling just as cheap as it is, and having terrible road manners on the way to the trails. He sold it as-is to his cousin.

Oh, I forgot. He can also use those manual "come-alongs" as well. They're straps that have metal cranks so that you can.....

Never mind.

Great pics and great story

That short wheelbase helps out a ton in offroading. For that amount of mud, it looks like he didnt really get his jeep all that dirty... :eeps:

Jeeps are certainly impressive off-road. I've had mine in the mud more than a couple times. These days it spends more time parked at the airport than anything else.
