In the interest of allowing members to answer many of their own questions...
- where is this component located?
- how does the system work?
- what other systems does this communicate with?
- what do the internal parts look like?
- what does this message in the Control Display or Instrument Cluster mean?
... I have decided to post the Technical Training documents for the E65/E66 7-Series.

Sorry, only info for engines sent to North America.

Here are the bus charts. Note several changes over time, for example elimination of a separate SIM module, addition of several devices on the MOST bus and a re-ordering of these modules.

Also attached is the training for the facelift (2006 - 2008 model year), although some of these features (AHL and Comfort Access) were available on later pre-facelift models.
