Clear Bra - X-Pel or Clearshield?

I have done a lot of reading tonight on paint protection. This forum is the best! I know the dealer will offer permaplate (NO), Extended Warranty (NO), Extended Service (Undecided), Tire and Wheel warranty (undecided), and tinting. Herein lies my question.

I live in AZ, where there is a lot of gravel trucks and dust/sand. I'm thinking clear film. There is a highly regarded firm here in Tucson called The Specialists, and they offer X-pel or clear shield.

My question:
1) It seems like this would be a good product to add to my car when I receive it. Is the current conventional wisdom that this is a good thing to purchase?
2) is X-pel or clear shield better?
3) What should I ask the installer so that I can ensure he/she knows WTF they are doing?
4) Anybody have any experience (good or bad) with The Specialists?

AFAIK Xpel ultimate film and a like offering from suntek are the only 2 on the market that have self-healing properties. No reason to go with anything else IMO.

Thanks, Brian. Will check the regional forum, though there has been no reply there. I also checked with a well respected independent BMW shop (Blue & White BMW). So far no bad words. I checked with the shop -
They cut on site with the X-pel patterns, do a full wrap around, and their installer has 5 years of experience. I will check some of their references plus their 2005 shop car. They are using the Suntek offering, as it turns out. I found that out on the telephone.

I used this company for MY2013 E70 M Sport. I ordered the full wrapped front bumpers, front of hood and headlights. I was absolutely impressed with their installation results and new clear material. I had xpel on my E39 and this newer product is a vast improvement.
