Typical Yearly Costs

Any help would be aprecciated. I am wondering what some of you spend yearly maintaining your BMW. I am buying a 8 year old 318I with 96K and would like to know about what to expect. Thanks.

I have a 1991 318i and it costs me just less than $1000 a year. That includes all the necessary repair items, state inspections, BMW inspections, my own oil changes, replacement bulbs, etc. *except* gas.

Now if you factor in discretionary upgrades, well, that's a different story :)

Edit: I should probably mention that those figures are based on having the dealer perform some of the work. I've just started to have a very good independent mechanic do some work, and I hope to see some significant savings.
