Broke transmission on Sentra

My sister-in-law forced the automatic transmission shifter on threir car and now it moves freely to all positions and doesn't lock into any. She says "the button is broke". Another artifact of this is the key is stuck in the ignition.

Does anyone know where I can find resources to help them solve this? Unfortunately they live 2500miles away which makes the hands on approach impossible for me to help them.

Forcing a tuba into the cabin. :rofl: Unfortunately my brother didn't find it assmusing. My 12yr nephew plays the tuba and had to return it to school (he's the only kid that can hold it).
