Hello everyone i am new to the forums. I just had a question for anyone who could answer it. Right now i am driving a x5 4.4l and I love it. I have heard of the new x5 4.8, that does 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. So my question is if I add all this (supercharger, cold air intake, high flow manifold, high flow throttle body, free flow exhaust, a computer chip, and a new air flow sensor) what do you guys think my estimated 0-60 time will be, and will it beat the 4.8l? With all the calculations it should put the x5 at 415hp and 400 lb torque and the estimated is $20,000. So if you have any views or opinions about this I would appreciate it.

My opinion... keep your X5 stock and spend the $20,000 somewhere else. If you have a wild hair, and you really want the new 4.8, it can't cost you $20,000 to dump your current X5 and get that one instead!

In any case, I've driven an Infiniti FX45 to 60 in 5.9 seconds and it didn't really feel much faster than any SUV doing 0-60 in 7 seconds. It is a waste to spend $20,000 to drop a second to 60 mph...

Thanks you guys for your feedback. I dont think im gonna get get the supercharger, but the other things i will. It should run around $5000, and put me near 340 hp. I think that will be plenty fast.

I got a feeling you're referring to the Dinan SC setup. They are the only one in the market that runs into that price, and doesn't even include an intercooler!

Check out ASA/infinitas.

Hey crusin, I think You should go ahead and put on a supercharger. I have the dinan supercharger set up on my x5. All I can everyone is, do you know that feeling you get in your stomach when you drop like 10 storys from a roller coaster? Thats what I feel everytime i push the accelerator, its unbelieveable. But heres the downside, You will have to get a 2nd job just to pay for the gas alone. Second, I just moved out here to california, and I know they have very strict laws. So you should check to even see if a supercharger system will even be legal in this state. I hope mine is! Good luck

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Well I have thought it over long and hard and I have figured out that the x5 is not for me. I dont tow, im the only passenger if not just one other person is in the car, and i only put 400 miles on it a month. With my "heavy foot" driving and the x5's size I think i need to get a smaller car. But i love the x5 and would recommend it to anyone. I am going to be getting a bmw M3 I think this should more then satisfy my thirst for acceleration. Now I am stuck with the whole problem of selling the x5
