Just got back from BMW of Nashville where I made an offer on an ED 325i. Since there was no invoice price available we based it on the 2004. I offered 2K less than the European MSRP plus options. They said they would only take off $500. but throw in floor mats...I said I would look around. Also the CA said that if I bought from them that I would get better treatment when I had my car serviced there than if I went somewhere else..LOL I said that was blackmail...LOL Does my offer seem unreasonab;e? Would love feedback. I am willing to fly anywhere on the East Coast to pick up..maybe I should go to Passport that I am reading so much about.

You need to do a search on these forums. Sorry. All of your questions will be answered. The short answer to your question is that you are not being unreasonable.

Floor mats are part of the ED deal. BMWNA pays for them.

Go to Passport if they won't work with you. It just depends. If you have only one dealer in your area, chances are they have you by the short and curlies. One other possibility would be to get a deal elsewhere and see if they'll match.

Joern Esser, specifically, at Passport is the man to talk to. Keep in mind that you'll be much better negotiating an amount over ED invoice, rather than down from ED MSRP. It's a fair way to do it, and it's the number that the dealer really cares about.

You should be working off dealer invoice. I had an agreement 1 year ago for a 2004 when the prices were also not out. The agreement was whatever the ED invoice would be plus a fixed fee. I also had go to a dealer 100 miles aways to get the deal I wanted because the local dealers would not come off a dime from MSRP.

The story about getting better treatment is BS. I had my cars service by the same dealer, the closest to my house, for the past 5 years and have received outstanding service even though I did not buy neither of my 2 BMW's from them.
