My gf drove the 545i this weekend at Lexus's Taste of Luxury event, where they bring out competitor cars for comparison. There was no comparison between 545i and the GS430.

I shut off the traction control and told the gf to floor it thru the slalom and the funniest thing happened.... the car started tail swapping from corner to corner, I couldn't even believe my gf tail swapped the car hahahahahah!

So next I took the E500 out... nice and torqey, but I almost lost it trying to do a tailswap LOL.

I really wonder why Lexus still does these events-- they really do themselves a disservice. I can't imagine that anyone is going to like the driving experience of any Lexus (especially around an autocross type of track) over a comparable BMW or even Mercedes. You buy a Lexus because its more reliable, not because it drives or looks better. I went to one in 2000 (prior to the IS300), and they had an ES300 up against a 328i  There was a 2 person line for the ES and about a 40 person line for the 328.

??? M5 - V10 ???

No.. no.. I understand that the 5.0 V8 engine will enable performance of closely match of the E39 S62 M5.

The E60 S65 M5 will have the V10 with 500 HP

Interesting thou, that the S65 engine for the new M5 will be the "detuned" version. As the full power is unleashed on the E63 M6 with additional 82 HP. Same engine, exhaust and intake. Looks like the new M6 is the Munich's favorite child. ;)

Hmmm I forgot to add, that I liked the interior of the old 5 series lol.

Tail swap = allowing car to slide/drift from side to side to side without losing control.. basically you induce a drift, then you overcorrect for the tail to swing out the other way, then countersteer + overcorrect causing the tail to swing back... so the car keeps swapping tails.

Uhm... Obviously no link to something highlighting a 550 plans so this doesn't even qualify as a rumor just pointing a a possible engine that BMW has in their offerings.
