View Full Version : Another odometer tamper light.
Boom. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2485596833&category=36468)
They do seem to come up on ebay cars pretty often. Our collective experience is you have to try pretty hard to get the light to come on. You can even drive with the whole cluster removed and not set it off.

So does anyone contact the sellers or ebay when they see lit tamper lights?

AndyM did on the last one. The seller responded "I dunno what you are talking about" and then he photoshopped out the tamper light 5 minutes later.
This all preceeded a 'discussion' on another board that "the tamper light really doesn't matter and it's fine to buy a car with the light on". Smart. Real smart.

Likewise, you can drive without the sensor plug fitted to the sensor :snooze:

Very true, though I've always wondered how far. Mine's only been unplugged when I've forgotten to plug it back in, as opposed to fishing for a working spider/sensor combo. :)
