I am not actually. This is from BMWCAR magazine, August issue. I have never read anything in there that is innacurate or street talk. This is from the inside. It is siad that the car will have an //M 6 cylinder engine, similar with todays M3, but more technologically advanced.
Oh, yes, and the new M3 will DEFINITELY have a V8.!!!

I just want to know when I can buy a 1 series in the US. Hopefully before I'm a senior citizen.

Actually what I'd really like to see is a Z4 M
Hot hatches are played out these days

That must be why the MCS has done so poorly.
BMW needs to pay attention and give the US market a six-cylinder 1er! With the 3 series getting larger and more expensive, BMWNA needs a smaller less expensive car to fill the e36/e46 market.

Quoting from Jeremy Walton's 1 Series Review in the August 2004 Roundel:
"... the new generation of BMW six-cylinder engines were engineered to find a home in the 1-series engine bay.
America would get a 'three box' six-cylinder either 'in coupe two-door or four-door sedan trim, it's not decided... Anyway, it will take until at least 2006 and probably 2007 before this car gets to the States .... My guess? By 2007, America will get an M2-baged coupe with 286bhp"

Sound interesting. I'd still like to see the hatch back. With a car that small, a hatch is useful. This would fill the need for all those people who think the MCS is just a little too small.

It is going to be called M2, because the legendary M1 has already existed.
It is coming 2005 or 2006.

America is the largest market for M cars, so I dont see them having one that we dont get.
