hi guys.
I have a 1995 e36 Cab with 17" m series wheels and lowered suspension and it is a really solid riding car. I keep hearing the windows and roof rattle when i drive and it kind of craps me off.

Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this problem?

IF you have tinted windows and the sound goes away when you crack the windows, then it's a problem with the seals on the top edge of the windows. BMW puts a lubricant on the windows to prevent it. When you get tint, it covers the windows so the roof seals rub against the tint and not the lubed window. You can alleviate it by applying gummi-phlege or stripping 1/4 inch of the tint. I can't 100% confirm the gummi-phlege thing, but hear it works and there was a service advisory about it. I don't know if that is long-lasting, though. Some have used other types of lubricants, but they don't last more than a week or two.

No tint on my windows (why would you tint a Cabriolet anyway, spoils the purpose!)
I use silicon spray on the rubber seals.

I think the noise is the rear windows shaking in their regulators. :tsk:

I just wondered if there was a quick fix that anyone knew about.

It's a convertible, not exactly the most rigid body. :D

Yes, it is the dictionary as the definition of "scuttle shake". . .
