Last Friday I experienced a 4th Drivetrain Malfunction, this last time I seemed to have lost a sizable amount of power, it was like mashing your foot in molasses. Very unnerving when you're doing 70mph on a freeway and the warning comes on. I brought it in, and had a lengthy conversation with my Service Manager, I told them I wanted it bought back. He looked at my history and said he'd contact BMW NA with the history, and let me know what they decide.
I got a call from BMW NA today saying they'll repurchase the car back. Talk about service, no hassle, no fighting back and forth, nothing. Made me very happy; the car will get a lemon title it decidedly deserves, no one (hopefully) will buy it unknowingly, and I'll get rid of those yellow AEs, and now I know what options I do want (MSport, Exec, LED lighting, etc) and not the ones I disliked (rear power shades, active seats, long wheelbase).
I test drove the 750 to see what I had been missing. From having my SRT8 I can't say I was impressed as far as power is concerned, but it definitely moves with the proper authority for the price/class this car commands. I don't carry a lot of rear passengers so it's either a 740, 750, or a 650GC - I can't do the tailpipes on the 640GC.
I really don't want to wait till the end of the year for the digital gauges, unless there is something larger happening on the 2014s?
