Ignition Noise

Has anyone encountered ignition noise on the AM band with the Alpine radios? Mine is so bad I can only hear the strongest AM stations. I'm considering a few mods like a real antenna on the car body and a few others. Any experiences out there? :yikes:

Are you referring to alternator whine? (where the pitch of the sound changes with the speed of the car). If so, that is usually fixed by changing the ground wire location/mount point.

Thanks! I guess I should have clarified that. Ignition noise is radio static from each spark plug firing. With six cylinders that's pretty noisy! I'll try a ground strap on the radio and go from there. :bawling:
