One of my downfalls is that I'm never "happy" with what I have. Or to be more specific, I'm always eager for that next car. Even though I love my car, and I've been dreaming of owning a BMW since early teen-hood, and I still have 2 years left on my lease, I'm already obsessing about what my next car will be.
Of course, I could always just keep Twilight after the lease is up... but I kinda doubt that will happen as the longest I've ever had a car was 3.5 years.
I'd love a Z4, but it's not a practical car for a one-car household. I have no idea how I'll like the new 3er or even the 1er (if it comes to the US), so I can't comment on how much I'd want one of those. I'd love to get a CPO 540iT with the M-Sport package (2003 m/y). And I probably couldn't afford a new 5er, as I'd probably want a 545.
I might also want to return to my roots and go back to VW. I like the current generation Jetta and Golf, and could probably pick up a used 1.8T model cheap and then mod the heck out of it. I also like the Passat, but that may be a bit played out as I've already owned 2 B5 Passats (one of which was modded.)
Then there's Audi. I love the looks of the A4 Avant (and S4 Avant). While an A4 Avant 1.8T (preferably with the "Ultra Sport" package) could be had, I doubt I'd be able to handle payments on an S4. I could always look to CPO, and again do some major modding.
Other brands have been catching my eyes lately too. Infiniti with the G35, Mazda with the 6 (wagon variant too) and the 3 hatch (which I could picture as a great modding car.) Cadillac with the CTS (V and non-V versions). Heck, even the Magnum peaks my interest.
Part of me wants a wagon for it's practicality. Of course, it would have to be sporty too. Another part of me wants a convertible... 2 or 4 seater. Then there's the part that wants a hot hatch that I can mod to bring out that boy-racer in me. And there are still plenty of sedans and coupes that I like too.
Oh, what to do!? Is there no cure for my illness?
