I called optima and they said that they do not make a battery that fits a 2001 325i. If anyone else has either used an Optima and they are just full of #$$# or know of any other deep cycle batteries to use I would appreciate the info. I am trying to put in a system and don't want to use the stock battery. Thanks

I wouldnt waste the money on an Optima battery, I have seen far too many go bad.
Alternator pretty much powers everything when the car is running anyway, the batteries are used for starting and power storage.
So depending on how big a system you are doing I would add Bass Stiffening Capacitors, which will deliver the battery power fast on demand like when the bass hits.

Ohh and to answer your question, Optima makes only 3 or 4 sizes of yellow top batteries I think 980cca and 800cca but I could be wrong, the 800cca is the most popular because of its size. Also a smaller Honda type battery and a 6 volt version.

True that the alt powers the car, but the battery does help to keep power runnin when your system is suckin up the juice. I am plannin on putting a 1 farat cap anyway, however I still wanted to put in a deep cycle battery. I am putting about a little over 1500 watts, with one twelve all Memphis Audio amps. Should ound pretty clean, will post pics when I am done with the install. Late
