I recently ordered a 330Ci to be delivered later this month. The vehicle was built with Myrtle wood and I want change the trim. The dealer was reluctant to change the trim despite my willingness to pay for the new parts and labor. I got into a spiffle with the Salesmen in forming him that this was MY CAR and I want the change made. I subsequently received a call from the Sales Manager, once again attempting to talk me out of the change in interior trim. The Sales Manager finally provided me an "estimate" of $1300-$1500 for the parts and labor and would call me back with the "actual" costs.
I have 2 questions:
(1) Is the $1300-$1500 estimate a fair price for parts and labor?
(2) What is the explanation for such peculiar behavior from the Salesmen and
Sales Manager?
Any insight would b greatly appreciated. Thanks.

First, what kind of trim are you trying to get? Second, to answer your questions:

(1) No, not even close to a fair price. And I wouldn't do this through the dealer either. You can easily do this on your own by buying the replacement trim on ebay or elsewhere and putting it on yourself.

(2) Sounds like your dealer doesn't want to go through the extra trouble of ordering new trim and installing it. Seems pretty ridiculous to me.

That seems like a lot! If you end up paying it make sure you get the old pieces and sell them on ebay or something. What dealership did you goto? Cant believe they gave you that much trouble.

It wouldn't be hard to do it yourself. Goto bavauto.com or bimmertoys.com, not sure it they have the kit but I know its out there somewhere. You might find it cheaper on Ebay though.

Good Luck...

I wanted the Black Cube in lieu of the Myrtle Wood.
