I have a 1997 F250 Heavy Duty XLT with a 4.10 rear end, Heavy duty coils, and rear anti-sway bar, combined with after-market Rancho 9000x adjustable gas shocks, and Firestone Ride rite airbags. This rig carrys a 2500 lb. camper while towing a 20 ft. boat. I'm pushing about 800 lbs. over GVW and I'd like to match up a good set of tires, E rating, 10 ply at a minimum. Do you have a recommendation? The previous owner had Toyo A/T Open Country 235/85 16" E rated 10 ply. They're getting alittle long in the tooth and its time for a new pair of shoes...

Here is a pic prior to putting on the Rancho 9000x's and the Air bags.

Wow... to be honest this is not my area of expertise...! That being said we do carry many tires in the 235/85R16 sizing, and quite a few are E load range tires. I don't have a specific brand/model recommendation per se, but if its mostly highway driving check out the highway A/S catagory, otherwise the A/T catagory if you need a more aggressive tread pattern. In this case you may want to rely a bit more on the survey results and customer feedback since we do very little testing of these types of tires.

Thanks Gary. Looks like the Bridgestone Dueler A/T revo has good reviews.

I think I may go with this one.

This is one of the few larger truck tires that we've driven on for some limited testing. Strong wet traction, quiet for an A/T tire... good choice overall.

I was looking at the same tire for my Sequoia. Do you have any published tests on the website. I found only three or four SUV/Truck tire tests and the Revo wasn't included. Did I miss it somewhere?

We haven't done a full test on these, but have driven on them in a less-official manner. Feedback has been extremely positive on these from some of our own employees who have purchased them as well.

One of the guys I speak with on an RV website has a combination very similiar to mine, and he loves his Bridgestones, sad he had 5,000 miles on them. Looks like it'll hold the load range that I want.

I was wondering about the load usage for your purposes. For me it is no big deal. I will most likely never go over GRVW and even that that weight is no where near yours. I would have thought you needed a heavy load rated light truck tire.

3024 each tire, X 2 gives me 6,048 combined. I'm at 5600 on rear axle (with camper on, wet), so I'm close to that 6,048. I didn't see the Bridgestone in a rating higher than an E unless I missed something.
