I finally broke down and spent some "quality time" with the M3. Replaced tranny fluid, O2 sensor, spark plugs, and the $%!! fuel filter. Of all the things that BMW did 'right' on this car, placement of the fuel filter was NOT one of them.
I had the battery disconnected while doing this stuff, and now I've got something in German displayed on the OBC. Anybody know how to set the thing back to English?
