The styling/change issues aren't new. When the 320i replaced the 2002, people hated the "overweight/soft/pig" of a car that the 320i was. OK, I enjoyed mine a lot, kept it for 10+ years. BMW has changed direction before and caused all kinds of unhappiness among the ownership like us, but things always seem to come around.

I owned the 5-wagon for a bit over 5 years before replacing it (very recently) with the 3-wagon. The Roadster was only around for about 1.5 years before replacing it with the Coupe.

I don't see any more trades/purchases happening in the next few years... unless BMW imports an E90 wagon with a 3-liter... or perhaps a Z4 Coupe :confused:
