Thought I'd ask if anyone has done this before I browse thru the TIS CD for instructions.(doubt I'll find anything)
I bought a cruise control stalk end cover with writing in German. I'm trying to remove the English cover and it's fighting all the way. Any tricks to popping of the end cover?
I think a few people did this (vain) modification approx. one year ago.
Thanks

Max (01silber) did this a long time ago. I'm sure he'll reply when he gets home. He's en route now (actually sleeping somewhere in Louisiana).

Just don't do like he did and forget the German word for 'Resume' while also forgetting how the cruise control works due to Garage-Queen-itis. ;) Sorry Max, but that one gave me a good laugh. :)

I used to live in that somewhere. He's in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, where I lived for fourteen (14) years! I suspect he is within two miles of my "X" 40' x 60' garage.

And no Max, it's NOT pronounced "brokes bridge", it's bro bridge

Let know once you're back in SA

Im home, 2800 miles round trip :yikes: damn Im tired
That was great fun though seeing ever one, Ill post a HC thread in a bit, need to eat and im trired

The cruise cover just pops off its real easy to do, I bought mine from www.leatherz.com you need to email them and ask if they still sell it
once you get the new piece you will see how it snaps on and off, it is super easy, mabye a 2 minute job
Elf the locking ear is on the backside of the cap, just use a sper small flat head and it prys/pops off if you look at the new cap you will see the locking tit on the inside of the cap

Got it.. thanks.
I didn't notice the tiny locking ear (bump) on the rear and didn't want to force it and end up with a broken cruise control. Although the only time I use it is on the 10 hour drive to / from HC.
