If anyone has any recommendations on where to by the Wood Dash Trim for my 97 528i above glove box on passenger side, please let me know. My strip is now cracked in one place and I would like to replace it. Also, if anyone knows what the part number is for that item, I can find out if an online dealer has it.
I can post pics if needed!
Thanks,
Chad

There is more than one kind of wood trim, but if memory serves, the 528i had optional Vavona (redwood) and the 540 had walnut.
PN for the Vavona piece that goes on right side of dash: 51 45 8 159 744

LMC,
Here are pictures of the trim. Can you tell me which one it is from these pictures?
Thanks!

It looks like Vavona redwood to me, Chad.
I admit I would feel better if one of the E39 experts here backed me up on that, though, as I am not very knowledgeable on the 5ers. If nobody else chimes in, how about posting in the 5 series area with the photos and getting confirmation? I suspect ordering that piece through the parts counter won't be inexpensive (maybe a hundred?) and getting the wrong wood could be an expensive error, depending on whether you could return it for a full refund or not.
