You can buy my HK system if you want. Everything but the wires.

The Head unit usually runs $400 on ebay. So add whatever you think for the speakers and amp. It has the sub, and front and rear sets of speakers. Then make an offer. Its all in like new condition. I replaced it all with navigation, JL amps, and a/d/s speakers.
I don't need the head unit. Just the speakers, and door covers.
I'm not sure how much the stuff is worth, but how does $150 sound?

For just the speakers, then you can have them for 300. There are no door covers, those are part of the doors.

speakers and amp for $300 that is.
So that includes all 12 speakers?
Would you do a COD?
Um, a E36/8 stereo will not work in a E46. None of the parts are compatible.
If that's not an issue, please excuse me for interrupting.
Is the stereo from an e46 or e36?
I need it to fit into a 2004 325Ci.

Hmmm, the wiring harness is different for hte headunit? Oh well, my bad.
But the speakers should all fit fine.

The head is the same on E46s between HK and non. The harness changed in 02, but it's adaptable, but I believe the CD43 doesn't support a lot of the CD53 features (steering controls, iBus display, aux/iPod in, 4 antennas)
Speakers are completely different going to E46. E46s have non-standard basket sizes so things have to be fabricated to fit (ask me how I know).
31st330i used to have a webpage (now gone) that documented swapping non-HK with HK in a sedan. And there are people on Fanatics that sell HK bits all the time (I picked up some pieces myself).

Well, I am not going to comment, because I really dont know the answer. But I will say that if they didnt fit, I would refund the money less any shipping charges.
But if Kaz is pretty sure that they wont fit, then dont buy them. Anyone else?

Page still there. It's a popular page and with the amount of hits I get, my site occasionally gets shut down toward the end of the month for exceeding the monthly bandwith.

a couple of my other pages are pretty popular too, which doesn't help the bandwith limitation.

Great write-up! I must say I also enjoy the HK on my 04. It is the best system I've listened to in a car so far so I've also been mystified by the naysayers. Great resolution, definitely better than the bose in my audi and the porsche 'hi-fi' system which was real junk. It's not tiring at all to listen to at loud volume for extended periods.
