About to buy a 2005 X3 3.0. Was going to get the following configuration but would appreciate any advice from you all if you feel differently:

Manual
Premium package
Cold weather package
Panoramic roof
Servotronic
Adaptive headlights
Nav
Premium sound
iPod jack (cannot get the preffered iPod hook-up with Nav)
Flamenco red / Sand leather

If you see anything here that sounds stupid, please let me know. I'm not 100% on the color but the photo's i've seen of the Flamenco look pretty good. Other colors I'd consider are White, Blue Water and Black

Thanks in advance.

What's "servotronic"?

Steering enhancements. It's supposed to assist by allowing for lighter steering in city/parking situations.

Servotronic is brilliant. I did not get it with my '04, and I did make sure to get it with my '05. At freeway speeds you don't use it, but while parking at low speeds it makes a huge difference. Nav is CD-based so I didn't get it, but that's personal preference. HF with your new X.

I believe the Nav system is DVD based, though mine hasn't arrived yet. The reviews linked below all refer to a DVD-based navigation system. There is also a post on RF discussing copying the DVD to a DVD-R and using that for navigation. Of course, this is all second hand knowledge!

Flamenco red / Sand leather
....

well color is subjective but out of maybe 10 X3 sightings in the past 3-4 months i've yet to see any Flamenco red on streets. only saw one in dealer's showroom. it's a different kind of red unlike other reds on cars.

happy shopping

You can get the ice>Link in exchange for the iPod jack and have steering wheel control & CD Quality sound for your X3, just like the other vehicles.

MUCH better. You can control the iPod as if it were your factory CD Changer - just have about 4900 more song capacity.

the ice>Link also charges the iPod as well as offers a suitable mount for the iPod.
