I have some slight clanking up front and I suspect the control arm bushings.

Does the dealer replace these in pairs (ie. driver and passenger) ?

Also, I have 41k miles and my waranty is up in 7 mos. Should I wait until I'm closer to the end of my warranty so I can get more use out of the new ones before they need replaced around 80k?

I can deal with the clanking, but I'm concerned if it's a safety issue.

Anytime you have undesirable movement in your suspension, that's not good. Excessive movement can cause other problems, such as abnormal tire wear. Why not err on the side of safety. It's under warranty, you're lucky. Since that's the case......push to have both sides done and have them check the ball joints too. You might need an alignment afterward.

Clanking is normal with these bushings. BUt if there is movement of the control arm, then you need to replace them.

Replace them both, since, when the one is gone, the next follows soon after.
