Could someone please explain the logic of the ASC on/off switch? If you leave it on, the dash indicator flashes on only if the system engages, say in an accelerating turn. If you turn it off, the dash light comes on and stays on. Seems illogical.

Here's the way I look at it....

ASC is a safety device that BMW does not intend the average driver to disable.

If I have the ASC disabled (or it otherwise malfunctions), then there is a reminder ( read..idiot light) on the dash that constantly reminds me that I've turned it off amd *may* get into trouble if I'm not careful.

If it's on, and engages, then the system warns me with a blinking light that I'm about to get into trouble. If I'm driving agressively, usually I'm not looking at the dash, but a blinking light will get my attention.
